Food safety is the most important factor in our food quality program.
WDI Canadian facilities are Federally and Provincially registered with Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs and the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. These facilities are also Federally registered with USDA/FDA.
The WDI USA facility is Federally registered with USDA/FDA as well as the Departments of Agriculture in Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri.
All WDI facilities are frequently audited by CFIA and FDA as well as third party customer audits.
All WDI facilities have implemented HACCP based operations procedures. HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis (of) Critical Control Points. This system requires a step by step analysis of each process in the manufacture of our products. An assessment is made to determine if chemical, biological or physical hazards exist and procedures are designed to prevent these hazards from occurring.
There are seven GMP or Good Manufacturing Practices programs which are developed and implemented to support the HACCP Analysis.
These include: Personnel Training, Sanitation, Pest Control, Premises, Preventative Maintenance, Transportation Receiving & Storage and Health and Safety Recall.
All Woolwich Dairy employees are trained on these programs and the specific role they play in each program.
Each step of every procedure is monitored and documented.
All WDI facilities have in-house laboratories and employ certified Lab Technicians who continuously analyze all of our products and assist in monitoring process steps in production.
WDI procures the highest quality fresh goat milk in both Canada and USA for all of our products. All of the milk is tested for proper temperature and presence of antibiotics upon receipt. The milk is then pasteurized as the first step in our cheese making process.
WDI works closely with major sanitation companies at all of our facilities to ensure the highest level of cleanliness. All WDI personnel are extensively trained by these companies to achieve and maintain our high standards in both Food Safety and Health and Safety.
